Jazz Band

Jazz Band is an opportunity offered to 7th and 8th graders at Salk Middle School. In this ensemble, students rehearse a variety of tunes and explore different musical styles such as rock, swing, samba, and more. Salk Jazz Band performs in several concerts during the year at Salk Middle School and Elk River High School, as well as local elementary schools within the district. Students in Jazz Band rehearse during Salk's enrichment/intervention time on Wednesdays and Thursdays. All instruments are welcome in this non-auditioned group. Students must be registered in 7th or 8th Grade Band class to participate in Jazz Band.
